Kilkenny Day Bikes

We had great participation in the celebration to mark Kilkenny Day which is on Sunday 11th October. 60 bikes were cycled to school this morning and a few even came on scooters!

Kilkenny Day is an initiative of Kilkenny County Council and is about celebrating everything that is wonderful about Kilkenny City and County; All Kilkenny Primary Schools were asked to bring as many bikes to school as possible.

Kilkenny day falls on the feast day of the 6th century St. Canice, Sunday 11th October, from whom Kilkenny derives its name – Cill Channigh – the Church of Canice.
