Generally known as "The Model School", Kilkenny Church of Ireland National School was founded in 1856 and is located in a fine modern school building just off the Castlecomer Road in the medieval city of Kilkenny.
Our school is closed under instruction from the Government due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At The Model School we offer a variety of different sports and activities. Sports include swimming, soccer, hurling, rugby and basketball and there are regular school trips and outings, theatre visits, concerts and much more.
The report on the Whole School Inspection of Management Leadership and Learning (MLL) carried out in September 2017 has been published. The report is very positive, stating that the overall quality of teaching is good with some excellent practice observed.
