The Model School hosted the Children’s Choral Festival 2023 in St. Canice’s Cathedral on 9th June. We were joined by 5 other schools in the diocese – Cosby NS, Clonenagh NS, Abbeyleix South NS, Wandesforde NS and Maryborough NS. It was lovely for schools to be back together for this annual event and the singing was beautiful.

The theme of this year’s service was ‘Welcome, Hospitality and Inclusion’ in keeping with the theme of the Bishop’s Art Competition this year. All schools in the diocese took part in Children’s Choral Festival Services at various locations across the diocese today. 

Thanks to Dean Stephen Farrell who led our service and Harry Meehan who accompanied us on the organ.

At the end of the service we got a picture of our 6th class pupils in the Cathedral as this will be their last service during their time in the Model School.
